Frequently asked questions
Do I need previous experience?
No. No previous rafting experience is required. Before starting the activity, the guide will give a full safety briefing and explain basic techniques.
Is it mandatory to know how to swim?
Yes. It is essential to know how to swim in order to participate in the activity.
What is the minimum age?
The minimum age varies depending on the selected option and river conditions. It is usually between 6–7 years for family-friendly sections and 12–14 years for more intense descents.
Is transport included?
The activity includes transfer from the base to the starting point and transport back to the base at the end of the descent.
What equipment do I need to bring?
Swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and a glasses strap if needed. Optionally, you can bring a thermal top or lycra. All technical equipment (wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, etc.) is included.
Is the activity cancelled due to rain or bad weather?
No. The activity takes place even in rainy conditions, as you will get wet anyway. It will only be modified or cancelled if conditions pose a safety risk.
Is it a safe activity?
Yes. It is a guided activity led by qualified professionals using approved equipment. However, as it takes place in a natural whitewater environment, it involves inherent risks which are minimized by following the guide’s instructions at all times.
What happens if I fall into the water?
It can happen during the descent and is considered a possible situation within this type of activity. In that case, you will be equipped with a life jacket and helmet, and the guide will explain beforehand how to act to ensure your safety at all times.
Do I need to be in good physical condition?
A high level of fitness is not required, but a basic physical condition is needed to paddle and follow instructions during the descent. Depending on the chosen route (intensity, duration and water flow), the activity can be more demanding and may require better physical condition and endurance.
Will I feel cold?
The water is cold, but the wetsuit provides protection and your body quickly adapts during the activity.
Is there enough water for rafting in summer?
Yes. Although the natural river flow is lower in summer, controlled water releases from reservoirs ensure an adequate level for the activity. These releases are scheduled, so rafting departures operate at set times depending on water release timings.
Can I wear glasses or contact lenses?
Yes, but it is important that glasses are properly secured with a strap. Contact lenses are a good alternative.
Can I bring my phone or record the activity?
It is not allowed to bring your phone, as it may be lost or damaged by water. If you want to record, some helmets have mounts for GoPro or similar cameras; just request it when receiving your equipment.
Where can I leave my belongings?
At the base, lockers are available to store your personal belongings. We recommend not bringing valuables and, if you do, leaving them in your vehicle.
Are there changing rooms or showers?
