What does hydrospeed involve?
Hydrospeed is a whitewater activity where you descend the river floating on a hydrospeed board, propelling yourself with fins and guided at all times by professionals. It is a direct experience with the river, where you control your trajectory yourself.
Are there different difficulty levels?
Yes. There are different sections adapted to various levels, from beginner to longer and more demanding routes. You can choose the option that best suits your experience and desired intensity.
What is the minimum age?
The minimum age ranges between 8/12 years, depending on the selected option, water flow and the participant’s physical build.
How long does the activity last?
The duration varies depending on the selected option. There are short sections of around 20 minutes in the water, as well as longer routes with greater duration and distance.
Is it mandatory to know how to swim?
Yes. It is essential to know how to swim in order to carry out the activity safely.
Is prior experience required?
No. It is not necessary to have practiced hydrospeed before. Before starting the activity, the guide provides a full briefing with basic safety instructions and techniques.
Do I need to be physically fit?
A high fitness level is not required, but a good general physical condition is necessary, as well as being comfortable in the water and able to move with ease.
Is it a safe activity?
Yes. It is carried out with certified guides and approved equipment. As with any activity in a natural environment, there are inherent risks, which are minimized by following the guide’s instructions at all times.
Will I feel cold?
The water is cold, but the wetsuit provides protection and during the activity your body warms up quickly.
What equipment do I need to bring?
Swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, closed footwear that can get wet, and a strap to secure your glasses if you wear them. Optionally, you can bring a thermal T-shirt or lycra.
All technical equipment (wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, fins and hydrospeed board) is included.
Can I wear glasses or contact lenses?
Yes, but it is important to secure glasses with a strap. Contact lenses are also a good option.
Are there changing rooms or showers?
The base has changing rooms to get changed before and/or after the activity, but there are no showers.
Can I bring my phone or record the activity?
It is not allowed to bring your phone, as it may be lost or damaged in the water. If you want to record, some helmets have GoPro or similar camera mounts; you just need to request one when the equipment is provided.
Where can I leave my belongings?
At the base you will have lockers to leave your personal belongings. We recommend not bringing valuables and, if you do, leaving them in your vehicle.
Does it include transport?
Yes. The activity includes transport from the base to the starting point and return at the end of the descent.
Is the activity cancelled in bad weather?
No. The activity takes place even if it rains, as you will get wet anyway. It is only modified or cancelled if the conditions pose a safety risk.
Can I go alone or do I need a group?
Individual bookings are accepted, although in some cases a minimum number of participants may be required depending on availability.
Are there any medical restrictions?
It is not recommended for pregnant women or people with heart conditions or other serious medical issues. If in doubt, we recommend contacting us before booking.
Can people with disabilities participate?
People with disabilities must be accompanied by their legal guardian and participation will be subject to prior assessment by the technical team.
