Besiberri Hiking Excursion
Our meeting point is the Conangles Refuge car park, located at the southern entrance of the Vielha Tunnel. From here, we will follow a forest track through a magnificent beech forest before leaving it to continue along a mountain trail that crosses the track several times on its way to the Besiberri Ravine.
Water is the true highlight of this hike, creating an unforgettable combination of waterfalls, streams, natural sounds and breathtaking scenery. After a steep climb, we will cross the ravine and, on the shaded side of the valley, the trail zigzags up a steep slope. We will hike across granite boulders surrounded by centuries-old fir and pine trees. If we're lucky, we may hear woodpeckers drumming in the forest or spot vultures and eagles soaring overhead.
Eventually, we will reach the shores of Lake Besiberri. The spectacular scenery here is the perfect reward after the climb. At our feet lies the beautiful mountain lake, framed by the impressive Besiberri ridge, while cows and calves graze peacefully in this idyllic alpine setting. Behind us, 500 metres below, the Barravés Valley stretches out with magnificent panoramic views of the Maladeta Massif. We will return to the starting point following the same trail.
After the hike, you can enjoy a drink or snack at the Conangles Refuge bar.
